Hi, I’m Brittney, a math tutor with a B.S. in Mathematics from Indiana University and over four years of full-time online tutoring experience. Before tutoring professionally, I spent eight years homeschooling my own children, which gave me extensive experience adapting lessons to different learning styles, ages, and ability levels. Hi, I’m Brittney, a math tutor with a B.S. in Mathematics from Indiana University and over four years of full-time online tutoring experience. Before tutoring professionally, I spent eight years homeschooling my own children, which gave me extensive experience adapting lessons to different learning styles, ages, and ability levels. I work one-on-one with middle school, high school, and adult learners, especially those preparing for important exams.

Much of my tutoring centers on test prep and competition math, including ASVAB, SAT Math, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus, AMC 8/10/12, and NY State Regents exams. I have a strong background in academic competition myself, scoring in the 99th percentile on the ASVAB, earning a 1420 on the SAT with a 750 in Math, becoming a National Merit Semifinalist, and placing first in the Southwest region of the AMATYC Student Mathematics League. These experiences shape how I teach: I focus not only on content, but also on strategy, pattern recognition, and efficient problem-solving under time pressure.

In sessions, I begin by identifying gaps in foundational skills and habits that limit scores. From there, I use clear explanations, guided practice, and targeted problem work to build understanding and independence. Students learn how to recognize common question types, choose efficient methods, avoid frequent mistakes, and check their work quickly. My goal is always to help students gain both skill and confidence so they can perform well on their own when it matters most.
