I have 10+ years of working with students with ASD, LD and BD. I prefer and specialize in working with students with behavior disorders, am CPI trained, and practice verbal de-escalation techniques on a daily basis. I assist my co-teachers with designing accommodations. I am finishing my 6th year of being a certified special education teacher as well as having 200 + hours of training in ASD. My best friend is also ASD and I will assist her by going to support groups with her and assisting her in real life social skills situations, which are sometimes difficult for her.

I am a published author in poetry and short stories. I am also a passionate English teacher that enjoys the creative writing sections of the curriculum. Each year, my students write many stories including but not limited to poems, short stories, and nursery rhymes. Many of my students have gone on to become published writers. I also enjoy editing others' stories, novels, and poetry. Most of my creative writing experience is in poetry and short stories. I am also an avid reader of stories, and I am passionate about helping others be their best authors.

I am a passionate English Teacher who specializes in Debate. I was the captain of my Debate team for 3 years in High School and 3 years in college. I lead my teams to State Championships two of those years. I teach argumentative essays in my classes regularly. Many of my students have received argumentative essay scholarships in which I have assisted.

I have worked side by side with our Dyslexia specialists to ensure student successes. I have a bachelor's degree in Geology from Ilinois State University. My first job out of college was a hydrogeologist assistant with the US. Forest Service. I went on to be a Science Teacher, specializing in Earth Science. I now teach Special Education and general education and still teach science. I have many hours of soil science training as well as experience with structural geology, hydrogeology, sedimentology, and process geomorphology. I am also acquainted with GIS (Geographic Information Systems). I also have geology field mapping experience. I have had to memorize the main parts of the geologic time scale, as well as identify Earth's Structures in the field while mapping.

I have a 4-8 Core Subjects teaching license. my Master's Degree is in English as a Second Language. I passed my Master's Thesis on the first try with only one syntactical error in the entire thesis. I have 15 years of assisting students with writing personal essays, specifically high school and college entrance essays. Each year, as an introduction to writing essays, I teach my students how to write personal essays, with the goal that they can use them as high school program of choice essays. We write them together and edit and update them throughout the year as the students' skills progress.
