After obtaining my BFA in Creative Writing with a focus in Literature, I received my Masters of English with a focus in Creative Writing. I then taught as a full time faculty member for Tyler Junior College and later as an adjunct faculty member for Texas Christian University.
I have taught ENGL 1301: Rhetorical and Argumentative Writing, ENGL 1302: Writing about Literature, ENGL 10803: Writing as an Inquiry, ENGL 20803: Argumentative Writing, Introduction to Fiction, and Introduction to Creative Writing. My method of teaching is to get to know my students and understand how to best guide them in their own unique way. Every writer has their own voice, and it is my job to help students find it.
I have taught for over eight years, and I have worked with a variety of students, including dual credit high school students, college aged students, and adults returning to the classroom. It was an honor and a joy to teach in the classroom for so long, and I hope to continue that here as a tutor.
