I am a certified teacher with 10 years of classroom experience and hold a Texas Mathematics 4–8 certification. I specialize in elementary mathematics and have extensive experience working with students in grades 3–6. I began my teaching career in North Carolina, where I taught using the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, and I currently teach in Texas using the TEKS curriculum. Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of learners, including on-level, advanced, and Gifted and Talented (GT) students. My students have consistently demonstrated strong academic growth and achievement, and I take pride in helping each student reach their full potential.
My teaching experience has primarily been in the classroom setting, where I have spent the last decade helping students build strong mathematical foundations and develop confidence in their abilities. I use a patient, encouraging, and individualized approach to instruction because I understand that every student learns differently. I focus on helping students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts rather than simply memorizing procedures. Whether a student needs support with foundational skills, homework help, enrichment opportunities, or preparation for assessments, I strive to create a positive and engaging learning environment where they can succeed.
I have a genuine passion for working with children and watching them grow both academically and personally. One of my favorite quotes is by Zig Ziglar: "If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you." This quote reflects my philosophy as an educator. I believe that student success is built through a combination of effort, encouragement, and effective instruction. My goal as a tutor is to help students strengthen their math skills, build confidence, and develop the mindset needed to become successful, independent learners.
