Hi there! I am Grant, and I am looking forward to tutoring you. I am currently a High School Choir Director at a large 6A campus (over 2500 students) in the DFW Metroplex.

I have received both my Bachelors (‘19) and Masters (‘22) degrees from Stephen F Austin State University in Music Education and Choral Conducting, respectively. I am also certified to teach K-12 Music in the State of Texas through the TEA.

Hi there! I am Grant, and I am looking forward to tutoring you. I am currently a High School Choir Director at a large 6A campus (over 2500 students) in the DFW Metroplex.

I have received both my Bachelors (‘19) and Masters (‘22) degrees from Stephen F Austin State University in Music Education and Choral Conducting, respectively. I am also certified to teach K-12 Music in the State of Texas through the TEA.

I have ample experience in tutoring general music education, music theory, and musicology. I assisted as a collegiate tutor for the music theory department, and held assistantships within the musicology department, providing feedback on term papers and formatting in the Chicago Manual of Style, along with general tutoring sessions over composers and musical eras.

In addition, I can also tutor in general vocal studies, provide private lessons in Classical, Operatic or Musical Theatre styles, and provide lessons in Choral Conducting.

I am a high school choir teacher at a 6A campus in DFW. I have received a comprehensive education in Music through both undergraduate and graduate coursework. I am able to discern slight variations in pitch and tuning of notes based upon vowel shape, sound placement, and energy within the tone for both solo singers and ensembles.
Music History

Music History

I am a high school choir teacher. During my schooling, I served as the graduate assistant to the Musicology department for 2 years, assisting in both content preparation for Music History classes spanning the Medieval ages to Modern music. I also would provide feedback to students while writing in the Chicago Manual of Style. Currently, I focus on the use of Renaissance to Romantic era in the choral classroom, while providing assignments to students to help better their understanding of music history
