Hi, my name is Ria S., and I’m passionate about helping students understand science from the lens of someone who has been in their shoes. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Neuroscience, and I am currently completing my graduate training to become a Physician Assistant at Hardin-Simmons University, with graduation expected this December.
During my time at UT Austin, I served as a Teaching Assistant for Cognitive Psychology for over a year, supporting students through office hours and review sessions. I helped answer questions and guided students through challenging concepts using structured discussions, step-by-step problem solving, and visual aids. I was also selected for a peer leadership program within my neuroscience program, where I facilitated group discussions and collaborated with classmates to work through complex problems.
Currently, I am completing clinical rotations across multiple specialties, including surgery, family medicine, cardiology, emergency medicine, and psychiatry. I have experience independently evaluating and diagnosing patients, developing treatment plans, suturing lacerations, and first assisting in surgeries. This clinical training has strengthened my ability to apply complex scientific concepts in real-world settings, which I plan to bring to my tutoring by helping students connect foundational knowledge to practical applications.
I prioritize building confidence because much of the struggle with science comes from feeling overwhelmed, not incapable. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, capable, and even excited about learning. I offer a free consultation to discuss your goals and learning style, and I maintain flexible scheduling. I will always communicate expectations clearly via email before we begin. If you’re feeling stuck or just want to strengthen your understanding, feel free to reach out to learn more or schedule a session! I specialize in Anatomy, Physiology, Neuroscience, Psychology, and GRE tutoring.
