Hello, I'm Heather! I've been tutoring and teaching students for almost 10 years. I am able to help with just about anything English Language Arts related. This includes help for: writing, reading, analysis, research, test prep, and discussion. I teach a wide range of students with different abilities and am able to break down assignments into smaller, more manageable parts.

Writing is very difficult, no matter what level or grade you are! A lot of times, students are not sure where to start, or what their teachers expect of them. I can help them understand rubrics and gear them toward what the teacher is looking for. It helps to be able to talk and discuss the topics so the student is able to spark ideas through our conversation.

My education includes a Bachelor's degree from Keene State College in NH and Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from New England College. I was also chosen by peers and English Department Faculty to be awarded the 2018 Jan Youga Award for Excellence in Secondary English Education at Keene State. Being in school ignites and strengthens my passion for English, and I hope to pass that on to my students.

I believe helping students to become aware of their own learning and experiences, and is key in developing strong and long-lasting academic skills. I want to make students feel successful and confident. I want to help them build or refine their skills and be outstanding in the classroom. School can be a challenge. I've worked in special education, public school, and online environments. I have seen what obstacles may stand in the way for a student and I've learned how to help students navigate those issues.

I want to make learning a personal experience for you! I welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
