Hello! My name is Zach, and I have been tutoring semi-professionally for over 12 years. I have taught many different levels of learners over the years, from 3rd grade all the way to graduate students. Under my tutelage, every single one of the students I have taken on has both improved their grades and returned for more sessions. I am a flexible teacher, and will teach one-on-one as well as large groups.

I think the most unique aspect of my teaching style is my passion, which I bring to every session. I love math and science, and I have been involved with competitions and creative problem-solving classes forever. I will make visual aids, reference my students’ hobbies and background, or talk about pop-culture to make my point come across. It is important to me that students cultivate a deeper understanding of the material at a fundamental level.
I am originally from New York, and moved to Texas to go to school on scholarship. I received my B.S. (magna cum laude) and M.S., both in Software Engineering, from The University of Texas at Dallas. In addition to my technical background, I earned a minor in Performing Arts. My experience in theater taught me how to connect with different audiences, explain ideas clearly, and create an engaging learning environment.
Professionally, I am a senior software engineer and manager at Lakes Regional Community Center, a nonprofit devoted to delivering quality mental health services. I work extensively with data analytics and software development, with a focus on C#, full-stack, SQL, and Power BI. Outside of work, I enjoy strategy board and card games, such as Magic: The Gathering, as well as attending and performing in local theater productions.
TLDR; I am a huge nerd, I love math and I am really good at it. I bring patience, enthusiasm, and a collaborative approach to every tutoring session. I enjoy helping students achieve their academic goals!
