I am a native of Jalisco, Mexico who has lived in the United States most of my life. Art has been a way for me to find and develop my individual identity through visual expressions. Through the process of creative art making I connect with my inner light and global cultural heritage.

I have a Masters from the University of Washington and a BFA in Spatial Arts from San Jose State University. With extensive teaching experience at higher education, high school and middle school levels, I offer personalized ways of delivering information to meet students' needs at different stages of learning. I have experience teaching visual arts in college/university classrooms, and intensive immersive workshops for middle and high school and adult levels. Working with students one-on-one facilitates teaching and learning that meets individuals at whatever level they need to succeed in understanding specific materials and finding their own creative process.

Great observation and listening skills allow me to focus on individual needs. My teaching experience gives me the confidence on delivering the necessary information to get students to understand a variety of art disciplines and to connect with their confidence to execute visual expressions without fear or hesitation. With previous tutoring experience in ceramic sculpture and wheel throwing, drawing and painting and knowledge of art history as a practicing artist, I can assist in helping you find your artist voice.
