As a seasoned business and operations manager, I have had the opportunity to work and learn in quite a diversity of environments, including support roles in K-12 and Higher Education environments. I have extensive experience in workplace training from a plethora of topics which include: safety, customer service, standard operating procedures (SOPs), health, environment & workplace hazards, critical thinking, organizational culture and many more.
While I have much experience working with adults in the workplace, I have a knack with kids and young adults of all ages. I grew up around older people and easily relate to seniors as well. Having been exposed to large extended families all my life, I relate easily and am quite comfortable with all age groups - all this has benefited me tremendously as a manager, a husband, a parent and grandparent.
I have a deep understanding of workplace, organizational and community cultures. Fluent in Spanish, I have learned well that good communication goes well beyond just being fluent in a language... fluency in the cultures and 'micro-cultures' is essential in successfully reaching people and helping them learn. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to work a great variety of racial, ethnic and socio-economic groups and individuals. It never ceases to amaze me that despite all our differences, what all of us have in common is so much greater!
I am an hard-working, ethical and principal-centered person and base my family, work and teaching life on "my 3 Rs" - Respect, Responsibility & Reverence. Respect everyone and everything around you; take Responsibility for everything in life - good, bad & indifferent; look at all people and things with Reverence as there will always be those greater than ourselves - many times they are right before us long before we realize it!
