I have worked as an Acute Care Surgeon in West Texas since 2022, completed general surgery residency in 2022, graduated from MSU-CHM (M.D., 2016), and UIllinois at U-C (B.S. MCB, Chem minor, 2009). I completed EMT-Basic training, studied abroad in Ecuador, and speak Spanish. I worked for the UIUC Department of Chemistry as a teaching assistant, and did research in evolutionary biology, and plant genetics. I worked/trained at the UIUC Sustainable Student Farm. I taught MCAT prep in all subjects for courses offered by Examkrackers, Inc. I was a teaching assistant for general chemistry at UIUC (CHEM 102 and CHEM 104), an organic chemistry and general chemistry instructor for The Princeton Review MCAT Prep class, a tutor for Urbana Adult Education (for GED classes), and have taught chemistry to children.

I taught MCAT prep (all subjects) for Examkrackers, Inc., MCAT gen chem/orgo for Princeton Review, and I was a teaching assistant for general chemistry at UIUC (CHEM 102 and CHEM 104), and tutored GED classes at Urbana Adult Education.

I always ask students to describe what type of approach to tutoring suits them the best. Typically, I aid in the review of course materials, lectures or exercises; however, I am open to creating and presenting original lectures. I work with all ages, mostly with University students and adult education, and have a series of prepared interactive "kitchen science" projects for children. Usually, I meet with students at a library, cafe or my home. I am happy to meet virtually and am prepared to offer high-quality shared 'digital whiteboard' experiences for students.

Availability depends as my scheduled hospital shift calendar varies.

Extremely friendly and insightful

Tim does a great job of breaking down concepts, explaining them in ways that are easy to understand, and asking questions to help the student think critically. He also does a considerable deal of research and work outside of lessons to find resources to help the student understand material.
