I am a Licensed Practical Nurse with more than 15 years of experience in Army medicine, healthcare leadership, and medical education. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of clinical and administrative settings, including inpatient hospital units, outpatient clinics, patient services management, and nursing education. I currently serve as a nurse educator for the AMEDD Practical Nurse Course Phase II program at Fort Bliss, where I teach and mentor adult learners preparing to enter the nursing profession. In addition to my clinical background, I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Sciences and am currently pursuing a Master of Healthcare Administration degree. My experience allows me to tutor subjects related to nursing, healthcare, biology, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, healthcare administration, leadership, and study skills.

My teaching experience includes classroom instruction, one-on-one mentoring, skills training, curriculum support, and academic coaching for adult learners in both military and civilian educational environments. I have worked extensively with students from diverse educational backgrounds and learning styles, ranging from entry-level healthcare students to experienced adult professionals seeking advancement in their careers. My teaching approach focuses on simplifying difficult concepts, building confidence, and helping students understand the “why” behind the material rather than relying only on memorization. I also place strong emphasis on critical thinking, organization, and practical application of knowledge, especially in healthcare-related subjects where real-world understanding is essential.

I also assist students with APA formatting, presentations, exam preparation, and study strategies. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing the skills needed for long-term academic success.
