I am a certified high school social studies teacher with 17 years of experience helping students succeed in subjects such as World Geography, World History, U.S. History, Economics, and Government. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Texas at El Paso and have also taught AP Human Geography and AP U.S. History. Throughout my career, I have worked with students in both classroom settings and one-on-one tutoring, supporting learners with a wide range of abilities and academic needs. I have helped students develop strong writing skills, from DBQs to persuasive essays, as well as supported those who struggle with understanding larger concepts or preparing for tests.

My approach is to make learning clear, structured, and meaningful. Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because the material feels overwhelming or unclear. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, help students organize their thinking, and focus on essential skills such as reading comprehension, writing, and critical analysis. I also provide practical strategies for test preparation and assignments so students can apply what they learn independently.

I strive to create a supportive and productive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I adjust each session based on the student’s needs, whether that involves reviewing class material, preparing for an upcoming exam, writing an essay, or strengthening long-term academic skills. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them build the confidence and skills they need to succeed in the future.
