Hi, I'm Maryn! I received my Bachelors from Central Michigan University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Child Development. While in college, I really enjoyed my psychology classes, but really fell in love with my child development courses. I've always wanted to work with children as my mom has been a teacher for 30+ years, and by the time I graduated, I knew I wanted to go into teaching elementary. I am currently halfway through my Masters in Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University and hope to soon finish it to begin teaching in elementary schools!
I do have experience working with children through a daycare where I created the summer program for the 6-12 year olds including lesson plans to help them continuing learning throughout the summer slump and planning field trips to further boost their education. Before the summer had started, I was also substituting for the PreK classrooms and assisting with their continued learning during the school year.
Currently, I am coaching gymnastics for children aged 4 months up to 12 years old. I have been in this position for about 4 years and have only grown my love for helping children learn and grow. I have worked with our gymnastics curriculum to make sure that it is able to be applied to all children that walk through the door, as well as training new team members on how to understand each child and what we can do to help them. I really want children to be able to find their passion for learning and I truly believe each child can grow and progress. Learning how to help each individual child has become a passion of mine. Every child learns differently, and I want to make sure that they are able to not only learn the material, but build confidence in themselves and their abilities that can hopefully help them for a lifetime! Each and every child that I have worked with throughout my time coaching has left an impact on me and I hope to be able to do the same for them.
