I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and am currently pursuing a Master of Science (M.S.) in Chemistry at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). My academic training includes advanced coursework and research in chemistry, with experience in computational protein biochemistry, environmental/ecotoxicological chemistry, and materials chemistry.
I have several years of experience tutoring and teaching chemistry-related material, primarily through one-on-one and small-group instruction. I have supported high school and college-aged students in general chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, and related courses. My experience also includes mentoring students in research and laboratory settings.
My tutoring approach is student-centered and dynamic. I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation before moving into problem-solving, helping students understand both the “how” and the “why” behind chemistry. I use guided problem-solving and visual explanations. I also assist students with homework & exam strategies exam and scientific reasoning skills.
I have taught in one-on-one tutoring settings, academic support environments, and research mentoring contexts, both in person and online. I work with students ranging from beginners to advanced science majors, tailoring each session to the student’s learning style and academic goals. As a current graduate student, I try to provide accurate, effective, and engaging tutoring.
