Hi, my name is Celina. I currently offer tutoring in various levels of Mathematics. One of my favorite things about teaching is witnessing students reach the “aha moment”. But my favorite thing goes beyond math. It’s being able to be more than a tutor. It’s being able to be a mentor to each student I meet.
As an undergrad, I actively instructed fellow undergraduates in College Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Cal, Developmental and Intermediate Math as a tutor at the Southwest Texas Junior College tutoring center. I was able to extend my tutoring experience as a Supplemental instructor for College Algebra and Calculus courses. As a college student, I also helped other students of different grade levels and ages reach their math goals off campus.
I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics from Sul Ross State University where I continued my education to engage in courses necessary to obtain teaching certification. Shortly after becoming certified to teach at the secondary level, I started my career as an Algebra and Geometry teacher at Crystal City High School where I taught for two years. I proceeded my career at CC Winn High school as an Algebra teacher for one year.
I became a mom at the end of my third year of teaching and with careful thought and consideration my husband and I decided that I would take a hiatus from teaching to manage the household. Thankfully, I was still able to provide my services via private tutoring lessons. And now, I am happy to say that I am now offering tutoring online, too. Let me help you reach your “aha moment”.
