I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M Commerce. I strategically use the best learning strategies to help my students become successful learners. My tutoring experience is vast. I have tutored students from the PK level to upper elementary grades. I try to make sure that all tutoring sessions are personalized, engaging and structured based on the individual needs of a student. Finally, I have had the privilege of being nominated and selected as Teacher of the Year for my school.
I am knowledgeable and enthusiastic about teaching elementary students. I understand the dynamics and sequential process that a student needs to improve in the present classroom and what skills and strategies they will need in their future classrooms to continue to experience success.
I believe that phonics is a powerful teaching and learning tool for elementary students. I have experience in teaching phonics and spelling from the PK Level to 3rd grade. I also have experience teaching upper grade students who needed remedial tutoring in both phonics and spelling. I have taught in three schools that taught three different phonics programs. Throughout my extensive teaching career I have attended many educational conferences that promote the implementation of phonics in the elementary classroom
Learning for your child is a great life long adventure. However, like all adventures a child needs a strong tour guide to navigate the exciting yet at times challenging terrain of academic life. I look forward to being an additional tour guide for your child in the amazing journey of learning.
