Hello. My friends call me Tina. I am a licensed nurse of 22 years and counting with a degree in science. My nursing background includes case management, telephone triage, and pediatric ICU. I am also a birth doula.
Additionally, I have been a part-time medical instructor for a total of 5 years. I teach medical assistant, nurse aide, and pharmacy tech students in both the classroom and clinical portions of their studies.
Although every patient-facing role in nursing calls for teaching both patients and caregivers how to manage the health of themselves and/or their loved ones, my role as an instructor allows me to be more hands on in my teaching approach. I do this by offering more detailed knowledge, explaining the rationales behind why and how we as healthcare workers do what we do, and stressing the importance of keeping compassion at the root of every interaction.
I remember how challenging it was to study and gain the knowledge, experience, and confidence that led to my career success. I also remember and appreciate every teacher, mentor, tutor, and cheerleader who supported me on my journey. I take pride in having the same impact that they had on me.
It is my pleasure to contribute to helping you reach your goals on your mission to save lives. I look forward to meeting with you so that we can team up for your success!
