Hello everyone. My name is Michael and I am looking forward to being your tutor. It was a fateful day in 1995 when I received my first proper camera as a gift. It was a Minolta 35mm SLR camera that was first sold on the mass market in 1985. My humble beginnings started with 35mm film and I have seen digital photography take it's first baby-steps in high school to become the new standard in the 21st century.

I genuinely enjoy tutoring and teaching for the "light bulb moment". It's that moment of pure magic when my student puts the lessons together, creates something, and that light bulb turns on over the top of their head. I loved giving classes back in the Military; and I love teaching people to this very day.
I will be the first one to admit; I am lacking in a formal photographic education. Outside of a an introductory photography course back at my hometown community college back in 1997 and some online courses that have taught me Adobe Lightroom, I am self taught. What I lack in formal training I make up for in experience. I've packed a camera and captured shots over twenty years and 7 different foreign countries. Every lesson that I have learned has been learned the hard way. I can teach you what not to so that you can do what you have to do.
The lessons that I can teach you are the real world things that you will need to know in order to be a photographer. I will teach you everything from basic composition, shutter speed/aperture combinations to the proper way to stage and prepare your camera and equipment and how to perform post-production on your images. I am incredibly patient and I have a genuine passion for teaching.
