I started tutoring when I was in high school for NHS. There I tutored: physics, algebra, geometry, and pre-calc. I found it to be rewarding. I've also helped people get TSI approved for college. My biggest personal accomplishment in the realm of tutoring/teaching is that I've been running a math Discord server to aide college students with their homework. I've tutored in Calc 1, 2, 3 as well as Linear algebra and discrete math on the server.

I am currently working on my degree. I have a couple semesters left. My degree is a BS in Math and a minor in education. I have taken several courses dedicated to preparing me to teach math, physics and computer science for a 7-12 level. I personally like to use whiteboards with different colored expo markers to demonstrate my ideas, but I have used aids like Desmos or Gizmos to aide with lessons. I was a substitute teacher for over a year, and during that time frame I was part time teacher teaching a kind of engineering class but for elementary school students.
When teaching a concept that is knew to students, I use a 5E lesson plan model (Engage, Explore, Explain 1, Explain 2, Elaborate, Evaluate) as was taught in my courses for students who desire to be math and science teachers. When doing test prep, I give students a practice test to see a bench mark. Once the bench mark test is done, I go through each of the questions and ask for the students thought process to see if there are any misconceptions that need to be cleared up; on questions the student gets wrong I work the question with the student and show them how to do it. Once I am done showing the student how to do the question, I give different versions of the question to the student. Once we get through the bench mark test work, I will work with the student to both understand the concepts and how to approach the question type by exposing the student to knew questions of the same type.
Most of my teaching experience in recent has been with high schoolers in and college students in math in a volunteer setting
