I was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). I got my PhD and Master's degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2020 and 2017, respectively. The focus of my studies has been probability, statistics, and stochastic processes with applications in Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Online Learning, Queueing Theory, and Personalized E-Learning. I also teach ACT/ SAT for high school students to get them well prepared for their academic journey.

I am enthusiastic about teaching. I received multiple awards on teaching including:

- Harold L. Olesen award for excellence in undergraduate teaching by graduate students for the 2019 to 2020 academic year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

- Chosen as one of the teachers ranked as excellent by students in Fall 2015 and Summer 2016, and teachers ranked as excellent and outstanding in Summer 2019 and Fall 2019 at UIUC.

I also got teaching certificates from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign listed below:

- Certificate in Graduate Teacher Certificate; from Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning at UIUC, 2020.

- Certificate in Foundations of Teaching; from Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning at UIUC, 2020.

I learned probability, discrete math, and graph theory in elementary school all on my own without having any background on these subject matters. Hence, I learned how to learn complicated concepts in an easy manner and I know how to teach it in the same way to my students. This approach made me very successful in my teaching career and resulted in multiple recognitions on my excellent teaching exemplified as discussed earlier.

I love teaching and cannot wait to tutor you and see you flourish.

GRE

I got a full score in GRE Quant the only time I took the GRE test when I was 21 years old. I am capable of breaking down the hard concepts pretty well for those who do not have the background. However, after all, the student needs to practice till they master, but I am sure I will be a great help on the way.

Real Analysis

I had both the introductory course to Real Analysis, and the advanced real analysis courses at the University of Illinois in the Math department. I also taught Real Analysis to Nethra on Wyzant for more than 50 sessions, she was always satisfied with my teaching and always gave me 5 star (you can check on wyzant). I also have multiple publications on the theory of machine learning that uses real analysis techniques for proof.

PhD in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of teaching experience
Statistics

Statistics

The main domain of my expertise is probability, statistics, and stochastic processes. My PhD dissertation was on stochastic processes with applications to Machine Learning. I published multiple conference and journal papers on these topics. I was the TA and guest lecturer for the course on probability and statistics at the University of Illinois for 12 times.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

I did my master with a thesis at the University of Illinois, and I also did my PhD with a dissertation at the University of Illinois. I also helped a handful of master students to complete their thesis, I provided them with guidance on how to proceed with their thesis, what topics to choose, and how to find the related work, do literature review, formalize their idea and have a clear problem formulation, develop their ideas and algorithms, assess the performance of their algorithm and compare it with the performance of the state-of-the-art, and have some conclusions and future work for their results. I also had an offer for a tenure track assistant professor position in the CS department of Michigan Tech, so I am fully capable to mentor students for their thesis. I should mention that I declined the offer from Michigan Tech since it is in a small city.

Amazing lesson - very surprised with complex topics

Ali is an excellent tutor. He is knowledgeable and always willing to answer any questions you may have. His teaching style is clear and concise, making even the most complex concepts easy to understand. He was always available to help you whenever you needed him, and he was very accommodating with his schedule. Throughout the lesson, Ali provided me with valuable insight. His explanations were always well thought out, and he was able to provide me with great help. Ali is a great communicator and was able to break down complex topics into easily understandable concepts. He was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that you understood the material and was very responsive. In conclusion, I would highly recommend Ali as a tutor for anyone who is looking to gain a better understanding of computer simulations and queueing theory. He is a fantastic tutor who is dedicated to his students' success and goes above and beyond to ensure that they achieve their goals. You will not be disappointed with the knowledge, skills, and guidance that Ali brings to the table.

great

He was great. He took the time to explain things to me the way that worked for me, not the way it was convenient necessarily.

Knowledgable and incredibly helpful!

Ali is an excellent tutor. He explained concepts and walked me through examples to understand key ideas. I went from being confused by several topics to becoming confident, even with advanced topics. I highly recommend him.

Thank you so much! great service

If you are struggling with probability as I do, look no further. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject and will go beyond the scope to get you understand. In my opinion, he is one if not the best tutor you can find. I highly recommend him.

Knowledgable, clear, and patient

Ali, has helped me understand Reinforce Learning theory more clear. I have been having difficulty understanding the theory/nomenclature in this new field. He is knowledgable and patient/good listener. I highly recommend him.
