My name is Carol Xu, and I recently graduated from Emory University with a degree in Music (Violin Performance). I’ve been playing the violin since I was 5, and I absolutely love sharing my passion with others. My name is Carol Xu, and I recently graduated from Emory University with a degree in Music (Violin Performance). I’ve been playing the violin since I was 5, and I absolutely love sharing my passion with others. I truly believe that the skills gained from studying music are lifelong lessons that can be applied to excel in any future career. Six years ago, I began teaching in Dallas, and I have experience working with young students ranging from beginner level to those studying advanced repertoire.

I remember when I began learning the violin and was fortunate to have an extremely passionate teacher. Having such a solid foundation growing up, I now do everything in my power to encourage others to discover the joy of music. All of my happiest memories revolve around musical experiences—whether it's playing in a great orchestra or simply performing for others, I know that learning the violin offers an incredible new perspective on life.

As the Emory University Symphony Orchestra's previous concertmaster, I am well-equipped with the skills needed to help any student reach the next level in their music career. I have over 16 years of performance experience studying under world-renowned conductors and teachers. Throughout my music career, I have played with several youth orchestras and have traveled around the country to perform, including Carnegie Hall in New York. Additionally, I was honored to be the concertmaster at Emory University, where I performed on a 1687 Grancino violin. As a university graduate, I understand the importance of music for developing minds as well as the joy that it can bring. Carol is a top-notch music teacher! Patient, flexible, and agile, she works incredible well with my daughter, helping her to further her talent!
