I have a BS and MS in physics from the University of Texas at Dallas. In pursuing those degrees I took many math courses including advanced calculus, linear algebra and abstract algebra. I worked for many years at Texas Instruments developing processes for making computer chips. When I left there I took up math and physics tutoring. I love working one on one with students, helping them achieve their goals. I have had many rewarding experiences with students who didn't believe in their...

Patient and Positive
You can tell he enjoys what he does. He quickly learned where I was then created real world connections to what I was working on. He goes out of his way to make sure I understand.

Wonderful calculus tutor!
John helped my college age son w calculus 1 problems. He clearly understands the material and was able to provide clear explanations and study tips to my son. Very patient and kind. My son has already signed up for more sessions w John. He was the only tutor we reached out to for calculus.

Explained in way that made it easier to understand & Boosted my confidence
John explained things in a way that I could relate to, but more importantly he gave me the confidence that I really did understand. During Calc testing, I start to second guess what I know. I am hopeful that moving forward I will no longer struggle in this way. He was also very fast to respond and was able to tutor me shortly after making my request on a Saturday Morning. I will be using John again, and in the very near future. Thank you!

Really Helpful
John has tutored me in BC calculus (Calc II), multivariable calculus (Calc III), linear algebra, and intro to mathematical reasoning at the college level. John makes it easy to understand the underlying concepts and is really helpful in helping me prepare for an exam. One of his strengths lie in being able to come up with tips for exams. Whether I’m lost in a class, need help on homework sets, need to prepare for an exam, or polish up on concepts before a final, John has always been great! Overall, John has helped me raise my grade by one letter grade in each of my classes! I am excited to use John again for help in my next math class.

Knowledgeable and Clear Explanations
John met with my daughter to review some CalcBC problems and was able to explain the strategies to solving the problems that were stumping her. My daughter now understands how to approach these problems with greater confidence.
