ADHD

Within my 5 years experience, I have taught and helped grow academically a total of 15 students diagnoses ADD or ADHD. I am highly trained in addressing executive functioning deficits through my Dyslexia Specialist training (Dyslexia student struggle with executive functioning skills like those with ADHD). My training includes keeping students engaged through all learning modalities: visually, auditorily, and kinesthetically - exactly what students with ADHD need when learning.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Through my role as an Academic Intervention Specialist, I have worked with dozens of children on the autism spectrum. I am also Special Education certified for grades K-12. I understand the unique needs of working with students on the autism spectrum: structured and predictable routines for learning, the use of visual aids, appropriately and strategically "chunked" lesson content, and activating all 3 learning pathways: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.

Dyslexia

I have 8 years of experience teaching students with dyslexia. I am I am a Certified Academic Language Practitioner and Licensed Dyslexia Practitioner in the State of Texas.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am EC-6 certified in the state of Texas. I have expertise in phonics, reading comprehension and math. I am also experienced in writing curriculum district wide.

Homeschool

I am certified to teach grades PK-6th (all subjects) and Special Education certified for grades K-12 (all subjects) and have been for over 10 years. Most recently I was a private homeschool teacher for 4 students, ages 3 - 7. I was able to provide individualized instruction that accelerated knowledge and skill mastery.

I am an educator with over 7 years of experience. I am starting my 4th year as a reading intervention specialist who works specifically with children with dyslexia. I am trained in Multi-sensory Teaching Approach.
