In December of 2015, I graduated from Cairn University with my BS in Bible and my MS in Education (specifically Secondary English Education), a minor in English, and certification in TESOL. One of my favorite things to do is to sit down with a good book and a cup of tea. Ever since I was little, I have loved to read, and so sharing this love of words with others is a joy!

One of my favorite parts of teaching and tutoring is the "light bulb" moments, when the student finally understands the concept at hand. Learning is empowering, so if a student has fought to learn, it makes the moment of triumph all the more satisfying.
Reading, writing, and public speaking do not come easily to everyone, and that is ok. If a student is willing to learn and willing to accept help, I am more than happy to assist, no matter the starting point. My lesson plans are all crafted to help my students as individuals with their own ways of learning and thinking. I seek to meet students where they are and craft individualized lesson plans to help them grow to the level that they need to me.
My teaching experience has been rather diverse. I have worked with at-risk students in an inner-city Philadelphia charter school, and I have worked with upper-class students in a private English-speaking school in Lima, Peru. This means that I have worked with students from a variety of backgrounds and education levels, and will be able to assist your student whatever his or her reading level.
Outside of the classroom, I have volunteered as a teacher through my church, and as a teacher coach, working with younger teachers to help them plan lessons and run a classroom. In my most-recent position, I proofread all publications for a multi-million dollar aquarium company.
If you have any questions about my teaching methods or if you would like to schedule a lesson, feel free to reach out to me. I will be happy answer and provide information and resources where I can.
