I had taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Asmara and later at Eritrea Institute of Technology at Mai Nefhi, Eritrea. I believe that my formal training in TEFL/Applied Linguistics, my high school and university teaching experiences, my knowledge of ESP such as English for engineering, English for nursing, English for sciences, etc. and designing English language courses qualify me to conduct research, teach some courses and involve in administrative duties. My university experience includes teaching Engl 505-Second Language acquisition, TESL 611- Curriculum Design and Materials Production, Engl 615—Language Testing and Evaluation, Phonetics and Phonology, Introduction to Linguistics, Reading and Writing I & II, Functional Grammar, TESL, Introduction to Psycholinguistics, Sociolinguistics, Advanced Composition, Language and Society and Translation. I have also served as Head of the Department of English for nine years. I have published two books; contributed two chapters in books, and 12 research articles. I was also a visiting research scholar at the University of Florida at Gainesville, Florida, USA from Sept. 9 to Dec. 23, 2002.
