Mr. Shane was absolutely amazing to work with. He went through my entire Statement of Purpose line by line, giving thoughtful feedback on clarity, flow, and reflection. He helped me build a strong narrative that connects my experiences, motivations, and goals in a natural way. One of the most helpful things he taught me was how to use reflection sentences such as “This experience taught me that,” “Through this project, I learned how to,” or “Looking back, I recognize that” to show personal growth and insight rather than just listing achievements. His approach was thorough, respectful, and very personable, and he made the whole process feel collaborative and meaningful. I had to write my first college essay this summer, which was very detailed and in a format I was not familiar with, and Shane was excellent in helping me edit it.
