My Background/Qualifications – I currently work for a leading financial-services firm after completing my Masters in Finance degree at a top ranked European business school. I have competed and won awards in several activities, such as; the CFA Research Challenge, business-case studies, and investment research projects. Along the way I have mastered several software programs such as Microsoft Office and SQL. I generally love to compete and am encouraging of others who want to perform their best.

I have long considered myself to be strong with numbers and this applies to Algebra as it is the foundation of many of the more advanced subjects in which I have trained. I have used Algebra consistently through my academic and professional career, and continue to do so even in my current job.

I am a graduate of the Vlerick Business School and am a practicing financial trader. Previously I worked in a corporate finance role, working on both finance and general business projects and was able to significantly impact the company’s bottom-line. I enjoy reading about various business concepts in my free time and seek to begin my own business one day.

I have cleared the Level 1 exam of the CFA program while achieving marks in the upper 70th percentile in 8 of 10 exam topics. Currently I am working in a profession that utilizes many CFA exam subjects daily, and I plan on completing the Program in the future.

I have used Excel on a daily basis since about my junior year of university. I am proficient in most formulae and I even know just a bit with VBA and Macros. I have never had a problem with getting Excel to do exactly what I wanted, and I ask much of Excel.

I worked with SQL daily for two years in my previous job and was considered the resident SQL wizard in my office. I basically taught myself the program and still consider myself proficient.

Philip is great when it comes to breaking down different aspects of finance. He goes to great lengths to show examples and provides additional information to bring the point home. He knows his stuff and is beyond willing to pass it on!
