Hello! I’m an experienced educator with 21 years of teaching experience, including 11 years working specifically with gifted and talented students. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to teach and support students across a wide range of ages, abilities, and learning styles. I hold both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree from The University of Texas at Dallas, and I have served in multiple educational leadership positions throughout my career.
I also have a passion for STEM education and have spent the past three years coaching a robotics team. Working with students in robotics has allowed me to help them develop not only their science, technology, engineering, and math skills, but also creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, perseverance, and critical-thinking skills.
Over the years, I’ve learned that every student learns differently. Some students need concepts broken down into smaller steps, some benefit from hands-on examples or real-world connections, and others simply need someone to help them see that they are capable of succeeding. I strive to figure out what works best for each student and build instruction around those strengths. I specialize in K–8 Science, Math, and English/Language Arts. I have previous tutoring experience working with students in 3rd–5th grades as well as 7th and 8th grades, giving me experience with both foundational skills and the increasingly complex concepts students encounter in middle school.
Whether your child needs help mastering a challenging concept, strengthening foundational skills, preparing for the next grade level, or simply building confidence as a learner, I would love the opportunity to help them succeed. I’m happy to work with students and families to identify their goals and create tutoring sessions that are both productive and enjoyable.
