Much of my coursework requires close reading, research, argument development, and clear written communication. I also scored a 720 on the Reading and Writing section of the SAT, which reflects my strength in reading comprehension, grammar, analysis, and written communication.
My tutoring approach is patient, collaborative, and tailored to the individual student. I especially enjoy helping students with writing, reading comprehension, English, SAT Reading and Writing, history, government, and related social science subjects. When working on an essay, I would help a student understand the assignment, develop a strong thesis, organize their ideas, strengthen their evidence and reasoning, and revise their work while making sure the final product still reflects their own voice. For reading-based subjects and SAT preparation, I focus on breaking difficult material into manageable sections, identifying what a question is actually testing, and developing strategies students can apply independently.
While my experience has primarily come through academic collaboration, peer support, and working with other students rather than formal classroom teaching, those experiences have taught me the importance of meeting students where they are. I know that the same explanation does not work for everyone, so I am comfortable slowing down, approaching a concept differently, and asking questions to identify exactly where a student is getting stuck. My goal is not simply to help students get through an assignment or test question, but to help them become more confident and independent learners.
