Hi! I'm Marie, and I believe the best nursing education goes beyond memorizing facts—it helps students develop the confidence and clinical reasoning they'll use throughout their careers. During my more than 32 years as a Registered Nurse and over 16 years in nursing higher education, I've had the privilege of teaching, mentoring, and coaching students at every stage of their nursing journey. One of the greatest joys of my career has been watching students who doubted themselves develop the knowledge and confidence to succeed.
I hold a PhD in Nursing, am a Registered Nurse (RN), and a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE). Throughout my career I've taught undergraduate, master's, DNP, and PhD nursing students in classroom, clinical, simulation, and online environments. My teaching experience includes helping students master challenging nursing concepts, strengthen clinical reasoning, improve test-taking skills, complete evidence-based practice projects, develop research and scholarly writing skills, prepare presentations, and navigate graduate coursework. I enjoy breaking complex material into manageable steps and tailoring each session to each student's learning style and goals. Having taught thousands of nursing students, I am consistently described as caring, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Students also value my clear expectations, honest feedback, and commitment to holding them accountable as they build confidence and become more independent learners.
Whether you're an undergraduate student preparing for nursing exams, a graduate student working through research or leadership courses, or a doctoral student needing guidance with scholarly writing, my goal is to help you become an independent, confident learner. I strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where questions are always welcome, mistakes become opportunities to learn, and every session leaves you feeling more prepared than when you started. I look forward to partnering with you to help you reach your academic and professional goals.
