If your child avoids reading, becomes frustrated easily, or has started to believe they simply “aren’t good at reading,” I can help.

I’m Lauren, a Reading Intervention Specialist with more than 15 years of experience supporting struggling readers, including students with dyslexia and other learning differences. My approach is structured, patient, and personalized so your child can strengthen the skills they are missing while also rebuilding confidence.

I have worked with students who once refused to read aloud, guessed at words, or shut down when reading felt too difficult. With the right support, I have watched those same students begin decoding more accurately, reading with greater independence, and feeling proud of their progress.

This work is personal to me because I understand what it feels like to need extra support as a learner. My goal is not simply to help your child get through a reading assignment. I want them to understand how reading works, develop strategies they can use independently, and begin seeing themselves as a capable reader.

Approved Subjects

ADHD

ADHD

I hold a Master of Education from Johns Hopkins University and have over 15 years supporting students with ADHD across settings ranging from preschool through middle school. Over the last five years specifically I have worked with third grade classrooms, special education settings, and private 1:1 tutoring where students carried multiple diagnoses including ADHD alongside dyslexia and other learning differences. I use Science of Reading methodology and Wilson Reading System principles to teach phonemic awareness, decoding, and fluency in sessions built around how ADHD learners actually process and retain information. My students build real foundational reading skills alongside the structure and confidence they need to sustain growth.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I am a certified educator with a Master of Education from Johns Hopkins University and training in special education. Through my work in life skills classrooms, dyslexia intervention, and private tutoring, I have supported autistic students with a variety of academic and learning needs. I provide individualized instruction that builds on each student's strengths while supporting communication, organization, and academic growth. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students can build confidence and succeed.
Dyslexia

Dyslexia

I am a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner with a Master of Education from Johns Hopkins University and over 15 years of experience supporting struggling readers. I provide structured literacy instruction grounded in the Science of Reading, including phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. I have worked with students with dyslexia in both classroom and one-on-one settings to strengthen foundational reading skills. My instruction is individualized, systematic, and designed to build both reading proficiency and confidence.
Special Needs

Special Needs

I hold a Master's degree in Education, and hold a certification in special education and have extensive experience supporting students with a variety of special needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences. I currently work with students in both one-on-one and small-group settings, providing individualized instruction that builds academic skills, confidence, and independence. My training includes structured literacy intervention, social-emotional learning, behavior support, and differentiated instruction tailored to each learner's strengths and needs. In addition to in-person instruction, I adapt these strategies for online and hybrid learning environments. I collaborate with families to create supportive learning experiences that help students make meaningful progress while feeling successful and engaged in their learning.
