During my graduate studies, I served as a teaching intern. In this role, I was responsible for creating PowerPoint lectures, developing exams, grading written assignments, and teaching foundational concepts in social work. I also taught core social work values, ethics, and competencies, and provided guidance to senior students completing their internship placements.
My teaching approach centered on individualized support, even while I was responsible for a classroom of approximately 17 students. Meeting with students one-on-one allowed me to understand their specific challenges and identify broader areas where the class needed reinforcement.
I currently work at an elementary school as a site coordinator, where I support students by developing individualized academic plans. This includes creating tailored lesson plans based on each student’s needs and organizing small‑group sessions designed to help them grow. I tutor students from Kindergarten through 6th grade and collaborate closely with teachers and parents to build a consistent, effective learning plan. My goal is to ensure every student feels supported and successful both in the classroom and at home.
