I am a seventh-grade Reading Language Arts teacher in Dallas, Texas, with a master’s degree in social work and a strong foundation in literacy, communication, and student development. My academic and professional background allows me to approach teaching with both instructional expertise and a deep understanding of how students learn, process information, and build confidence. I am certified and have several years of experience working with adolescents in both educational and counseling settings, which supports my ability to meet diverse learning needs.

I have been teaching in a classroom setting for multiple years, working with approximately 150 middle school students annually. My experience includes whole-group instruction, small-group support, and one-on-one intervention. I specialize in helping students strengthen reading comprehension, writing skills, and critical thinking through structured strategies such as textual analysis, vocabulary development, and evidence-based writing. I regularly use differentiated instruction, collaborative learning, and formative assessments to ensure students at all levels can access and master the material.

In addition to my classroom experience, I am also a documentary photographer and storyteller, which enhances my ability to connect lessons to real-world contexts and student experiences. My teaching approach is student-centered and supportive, focused on building both academic skills and confidence. I have worked with students of varying abilities and backgrounds, and I am committed to creating a learning environment where each student feels seen, capable, and empowered to succeed.
