My name is Ethan Bloom and I am a full time engineer, but I have a passion for teaching. I earned my BS in Computer Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University just a few months ago.
Throughout my educational journey, from grade school to University, I always found that a personal touch was the most effective way to learn. Not only did I personally do my best learning in a one-on-one setting, but I also found that I had a skill for explaining technical concepts and making learning easy when I spent time trying to teach someone. Because of this, I spent a few hours a week here or there tutoring for free, or for low hourly rates, to my fellow students. I have been doing this for a few years.
Now that I am no longer a student, I am missing the educational aspects of my daily life. Because of this, I am hoping to get back to teaching, but doing it with the perspective of someone who has finished their formal educational journey. Not only can I offer knowledge to students that will help them succeed in their classes, but also in their lives, careers, and extracurriculars. My goal in teaching is to understand a student's current knowledge and perspective, and find a way to level with them to make topics and concepts digestible, and to make unfamiliar ideas feel routine.
I hope that through WyzAnt I am able to connect with students again and share the knowledge that I have gained through my educational journey, and leave a positive impact on them that will last beyond the classroom.
