With over five years of experience teaching children between the ages of 5 and 8, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how young learners build foundational skills in reading, phonics, comprehension, and early math. I have worked full-time in a classroom setting where I taught a diverse group of students with varying learning styles and abilities. This experience has taught me how to meet students where they are, build their confidence, and tailor instruction in ways that keep them engaged and progressing.
My strongest areas are literacy and math instruction. I specialize in helping early readers develop phonemic awareness, decode words, build fluency, and improve overall comprehension. I use hands-on, structured strategies that promote confidence and independence in young readers. For math, I focus on number sense, problem-solving, and applying concepts in a fun and practical way that makes learning meaningful and enjoyable. My teaching methods are rooted in patience, routine, and celebrating small wins—because I believe that success leads to motivation.
Whether I am working one-on-one or in small groups, I always create a supportive environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and learn at their own pace. My goal as a tutor is to help children feel proud of their growth and confident in their ability to tackle challenges both in and out of the classroom. I look forward to helping your child develop skills that will benefit them for years to come.
