As a certified Texas educator currently teaching 4th grade Reading, I bring both classroom and virtual tutoring experience to the table. I hold a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and am pursuing a Master’s in Education with a concentration in Early Literacy Studies from Southern Methodist University. I’m completing an alternative certification program through SMU and currently hold an intern teaching certificate while actively teaching full-time. I’ve passed both the TExES STR and ELAR 4–8 certification exams, which reflect my strong foundation in reading instruction and adolescent literacy.
Before entering the classroom, I spent over three years tutoring virtually, focusing on early literacy skills such as phonics, fluency, and comprehension. I’ve supported students from Pre-K to 5th grade in one-on-one and small group settings, using research-based strategies that align with the Science of Teaching Reading. My goal is always to meet learners where they are, boost their confidence, and close academic gaps through engaging and personalized instruction.
I specialize in helping students not only improve their reading skills but also feel proud of their progress. Whether in a classroom or virtual setting, I create a supportive environment that encourages growth and celebrates every win, big or small. With experience in both STAAR-aligned content and individualized instruction, I’m ready to help your child thrive.
