I am a current student studying at the University of Texas of Arlington pursuing a bachelors of science in Geology. I am currently a sophomore, and I have completed two mathematics courses provided at the institution; precalculus, and calculus 1. I want to focus on helping current undergraduate students and high school students who are learning or will learn precalculus and calculus.
I have experience with tutoring in high school through a program called TRIO Talent Search, which provides free college prep; but the effort of my tutoring experience was my idea and the structure of my work was made by me. I focused on mathematics and science assistance. My approach to my service was to encourage students to adopt useful studying strategies and providing a space for students to develop a new way of processing their work that would suit their learning style better. I taught 2 girls long-term, but I have had a total of 4 students with ages ranging from 15-17 years old. All but one of them were in-person tutoring sessions, the other was online through video/audio call.
