Greetings, my name is Shaviun and I am enthused to provide personalized tutoring services. I have been an educator for 23 years. I have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Associate in Criminal Justice, and MEd in Curriculum Instruction with an Emphasis in Literacy.
I have tutored students in small groups for over 15 years. I have worked with ages 5 to 12 years old. These groups consist of 3 to 6 students that were identified because they needed extra help in reading. I provided visuals and engaging lessons based upon the student's needs. When I teach a skill I always relate it to real life situations or connections based upon the student's interest. Connecting what interest students to Reading helps them develop a
deeper understanding for reading. My passion is to build my students' confidence to believe in themselves and together we can soar above any obstacle or learning disability.
Currently I have become a certified Dyslexia Wilson Therapist and I love making a difference by providing interventions to improve a child's Reading and Spelling abilities. I will provide repetition and multiple opportunities to enhance a student's learning, which will foster growth through multisensory learning.
