Bio

Chemistry can be frustrating when a student knows the formula but doesn’t understand why it works. That’s where I can help. I’m a current high school chemistry teacher in Humble ISD with a degree in chemistry and more than 10 years of classroom experience. I’ve taught General, Honors, OnRamps, and AP Chemistry, so I know how to help students at different levels build a strong foundation and handle more challenging material.

Chemistry can be frustrating when a student knows the formula but doesn’t understand why it works. That’s where I can help. I’m a current high school chemistry teacher in Humble ISD with a degree in chemistry and more than 10 years of classroom experience. I’ve taught General, Honors, OnRamps, and AP Chemistry, so I know how to help students at different levels build a strong foundation and handle more challenging material.

I’m also an award-winning, published chemist and a STEM Lead Fellow with the University of Houston, where I help other STEM teachers improve their instruction. I participate in a Texas cohort exploring PRISMS and virtual reality in STEM education, and I present at educational conferences.

In our online sessions, I start with what your child is learning in class and find the point where it stops making sense. Then we work through the concepts and problems together, with practice resources they can use on their own. My goal is for your child to leave each session understanding the chemistry, not just memorizing the steps.

I am qualified to tutor Algebra I because of my educational background. I currently tutor high school Algebra I where I allow students to think critically and make sense of a seemingly difficult problem.

During my matriculation in college I took Calculus I and II and differential equations which are advanced math courses and required in-depth Algebra 2 knowledge.
Chemistry

My undergraduate college major was Chemistry and I am a certified high school Chemistry teacher. I have access to many helpful resources that would give students a deeper understanding of the topics in chemistry. I am also apart of the ACT2 and American Chemical Society (ACS) and received the ACS award for most outstanding chemistry student for my graduating class.
