Hello! I’m Rachel, an enthusiastic educator with over 20 years of experience helping students of all ages and backgrounds find joy in learning. My teaching journey has taken me around the globe—from classrooms in New Zealand and Japan to international schools in Dubai and China —with my current location being Houston, Texas. Throughout my career, I have taught everything from early childhood basics to high school subjects, and all facets of English language acquisition - giving me a deep understanding of how to connect with students at every stage of their academic journey.
A significant portion of my career has been dedicated to Special Education and ESL (English as a Second Language). I hold a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies specializing in Special Education, and I spent over a decade designing individualized learning programs for neurodiverse students, including those with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties. Additionally, as an accredited TESOL teacher, I’ve spent years helping language learners build strong foundations in reading, writing, speaking, and grammar. Whether you or your child needs tailored support to overcome learning challenges or an immersive boost in English proficiency, I specialize in adapting lessons to fit your exact needs.
I believe that education is never one-size-fits-all. Every student processes information differently, which is why my tutoring style centers entirely on personalization, patience, and engagement. I love utilizing a mix of hands-on concrete resources and digital tools to keep lessons vibrant and interactive. I excel at breaking down complex concepts in Mathematics and English into digestible, confidence-building steps. My ultimate goal is to create a safe, encouraging space where you or your child feels supported, capable, and excited to succeed.
Let's team up to help you or your child reach their full potential—I look forward to meeting you!
