I have over twenty years of experience in early childhood and elementary education, primarily teaching Pre-K through second grade and serving as a Reading Interventionist. I hold a B.A. from Texas A&M, graduated magna cum laude, and I am certified in ESL, GT, and the Science of Teaching Reading through the Texas Reading Academies. My professional focus has always centered on helping young learners build strong literacy foundations, and I have extensive training in structured-literacy programs including SIPPS, UFLI, Flyleaf, and other phonics-based interventions.

Throughout my career, I have taught students individually, in small groups, and in full classroom settings. I specialize in working with struggling readers, English language learners, and students who need additional support in phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. My approach blends clear, systematic instruction with warmth, patience, and encouragement. I believe that confidence grows when skills grow, and I tailor each lesson to the child’s learning pace, strengths, and specific needs. I frequently incorporate hands-on practice, word work routines, multisensory strategies, and progress-monitoring tools to make learning engaging and measurable.

My goal is always to help children feel capable, supported, and excited about reading. I love watching kids experience those “lightbulb” moments when everything finally clicks. With two decades of experience in early literacy, I bring deep knowledge, compassion, and a structured approach that helps students not only improve their skills but genuinely enjoy the learning process.
