Have you ever wanted to learn to sew but not good at just reading to sew? I’m here to help. I have been sewing for over 7 years now. I know how to read patterns, quilt, shirt making, etc. I want to help individuals, or groups, succeed in their dreams of making their own clothes and to show them vintage techniques that make them unique. I’ll be teaching the basics at first. Meaning anything from how to thread your machines, the different sin thread types, stitches, fabrics, etc. I am open to questions and when we first start I’d like to learn about you and what you would like to learn.
Starting out at a young age I would practice cross stitching and that quickly turned into so much more. I wanted to learn everything from bobbin lace to quilting and everything in between. A few years ago I decided to make my own clothes. As frustrating as it was in the beginning, I managed to learn more techniques to make my shirts look better with each time of doing it. Now I make all my shirts and I make quilts.
My lessons will start off easy and show you how to use machines and threads. Once you get the hang of that over Video chat, we can work a lesson out where I come to you or you come to me and I can show you how to sew your very own button shirt if you would like. You get to choose your cotton fabric and I’ll show you how to cut them and make it your own.
