A Heart for Science

I have always enjoyed working with the youth and have now refined my leadership skills and content knowledge to transition into the classroom as a high school science teacher. I am celebrating my tenth year in education and working as a high school Science Interventionist servicing more than 3000 students for accommodations, interventions, graduation support and more for my campus.

My higher education with the University of Houston at Clear Lake in Biological Sciences and my Graduate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Science has allowed me to bring depth and breadth of science instruction to not only my classroom, but for my current and previous school districts. I am grateful to have taught professional development for science educators in Region 4. I was recently selected to become Lead Mentor Teacher for my district's high school campus and will be mentoring more than 50 teachers with this year's program. I love to mentor and tutor students and educators alike. I am a Texas Certified Educator for 7-12 Life Sciences and Composite Sciences. I am also certified for K-12 Professional and Pedagogy Responsibilities.

I have taught all high school core sciences including Biology (Pre AP and AP), Chemistry (Honors), IPC, Environmental Science, and Human Anatomy. I volunteered my time working with nursing students at our campus for Pharmacology class support. Being a Science Interventionists, I conduct 1-1 student and teacher tutoring sessions, along with small group instruction and whole group instruction.

Finally, during the pandemic, I saw the need for more instructional support for students and teachers and created my own tutoring business. I prefer to keep this a smaller organization as I devote most of my time to my employer and my community. This is why I am wanting to work with Wyzant.
