I'm an educator with 25+ years of experience across elementary classrooms, school administration, and educational leadership. I currently serve as Head of School at a private academy and previously served as an elementary principal in Nebraska, where I led a reading initiative that raised student proficiency from 76% to 87%.
I hold an M.Ed. in School Administration from Doane University with additional graduate coursework in Educational Leadership at Creighton University. I'm a Nebraska-certified PreK-12 Principal.
Most tutors know their subject. Fewer know how children actually learn — how to diagnose where a student is stuck and design a sequence that closes the gap. That's where two decades of school leadership matter.
My specialties:
Reading & Reading Intervention (K-8): I presented at the 2025 ACCS national conference in Dallas on effective reading program design. I work with struggling readers, students with suspected dyslexia, and homeschool families using evidence-based Structured Literacy approaches grounded in the Science of Reading. Every reading client begins with a free 20-minute screening to identify exactly where the gap is.
SAT & ACT Prep: I work with students on test strategy, reading comprehension, grammar, and writing. My approach is diagnostic — we identify which question types cost you points, then build targeted practice rather than grinding through generic prep books.
Aspiring Administrators: I coach teachers and aspiring principals preparing for Praxis, SLLA, and state administrator exams. I bring both the test content and the real-world judgment committees look for.
Sessions online via Zoom or in person in Corpus Christi. I respond within a few hours and send a brief plan after our first session outlining what we'll work on and how we'll measure progress.
