I’ve had advanced education on the topic matter but then also formal training in it, which makes a perfect combination because not only do I get the topic but then also know how to teach it.
My professional journey counts six years as a full-time high school teacher in a STEM academy wherein I designed the curriculum and taught AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and Pre-AP Chemistry. This classroom experience has sensitized me to the challenges that students at the high school level face. I have recently taken up private tutoring as a full-time profession; hence, I can offer my assistance with keen attention to detail that makes a difference. My tutoring engagement cuts across age barriers, from high school students battling their classes to university students maneuvering general and organic chemistry.
My tutoring philosophy entails being patient and flexible so as to accommodate each unique learning style of the students. I design personalized learning plans, practice targeted weaknesses by creating interactive online whiteboard sessions for students, and craft custom practice problems.
I particularly prepare students for high-stakes exams in AP Biology and AP Chemistry. And previously, I have been known to help my students actually score 4s and 5s… so come on, let’s do this thing.
