Hello, I'm Jeanette! I received my doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction with recently completing 15 years of teaching grades English, SAT prep, and technical writing for various grade levels. My teaching methods are data-driven to create curriculum that is tailored to students’ needs.

Having a degree in English and teaching the subject allowed me the ability to proofread my own dissertation with carefully reviewing my own written work. My guidance has successfully developed students' skills for identifying and correcting errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting in their own writing as well as others. Mastering the skills of proofreading allows me to find strategic ways in helping students assess writing for producing a final text that is polished, clear, and free of mistakes by catching errors and establishing credibility of the finished written product.

As an ACT writing tutor, I help prepare students for the essay portion on the exam by teaching how to analyze prompts, develop a clear thesis, and support arguments with logical reasoning and examples. I aim to focus on structure, coherence, grammar, and time management for crafting high-scoring essays under timed conditions. Providing targeted feedback to improve students’ writing style, clarity, and argumentative skills aligns with growth towards individualized goals of is building confidence and competence in persuasive, organized writing aligned with ACT scoring criteria.
