I have 23 years of experience teaching and tutoring mathematics and love helping students gain confidence and truly understand math. Before becoming a classroom teacher, I tutored at Del Mar College, working with students in remedial math, College Algebra, and Calculus. That experience taught me how to adapt my teaching to each student's learning style. I graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi with a GPA above 3.7 and am certified to teach middle and high school mathematics. I have taught Honors Algebra I, Honors Algebra II, Geometry, and Precalculus. My greatest strength is breaking difficult math concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps. I have successfully worked with students from 6th grade through college, whether they need to catch up, prepare for a test, or excel in an honors class. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to build confidence and help students become independent, successful math learners. Algebra 1 is one of my favorite subjects to teach and tutor, Having taught Algebra 1 in the classroom and worked with students one-on-one, I am able to break down complex concepts into simple to understand steps. My students gain confidence as they learn to solve equations, graph functions and apply algebraic thinking to real world problems.

Patricia is truly amazing. Explains concepts understandably

Patricia helped my daughter within a couple of days of her final exams in college Pre-Calc. She explained concepts so my daughter could understand them and really helped her to learn areas she was struggling with. Excellent tutor- highly recommend!

This was our second session and it went really well. Patricia did a great job explaining the problems step-by-step and showed multiple methods for solving them, which really helped solidify my daughter's understanding of the concepts. She also wrote out corrections for the problems my daughter missed, which will be useful for her to review before her next test. We're looking forward to continuing to work with her.
