Hello! My name is Rebecca. I am a forward-thinking, innovative certified teacher, tutor, and Reading Specialist with 18 years experience in the public school setting who supports student-centered learning with high expectations, differentiation, and critical thinking skills moving students forward on their literacy journey. I earned two Master’s Degrees in Reading and English Language Teaching and Learning (ESL/ESOL).

I design my lessons to be engaging and relevant and strive to deliver high-quality, flexible, dynamic and scaffolded learning experiences. I am patient, flexible, and approachable. I prefer to praise and encourage my students whenever possible; however, a tutor's job is also to point out areas for growth to help students strive for improvement and success. My extensive experience and passion for teaching will help your student reach their full potential in order to be successful not only in academia, but also out in today’s ever-evolving world.

My expertise in teaching and tutoring all levels of English and Reading includes analytical reading, reading skill development in comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, test taking and executive functioning skills, essay mastery, and personalized writing strategies that foster clear expression and a strong, unique voice.
