A&M Math Major for Math Tutoring and Test Skills

I'm Emily! I am a current junior at Texas A&M University getting my BA in Math as well as a secondary education teaching certification! I have worked with middle school, high school, and college aged students for about 4 years now and I love it! I specialize in all levels of math and I am great at helping with AP test prep as well as Common Core test prep. I have passed six different AP tests including Calculus AB and BC so I know how to help with those types of tests and love to help students feel test confident and succeed!
For the past four years I have taught students in Algebra 1 and 2 as well as Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus, so these ages include all middle school through high school ages as well as lower level college students. I have had success with every student of mine passing their classes and tests as well as having helped brought up many kiddos grades from a C to an A. I absolutely love teaching and decided to be a teacher because kids need a support system, and I noticed the amount of checked out teachers we have, so I decided to make a change. I want to support kids in any way they need it and my main goal is to help them succeed, build strategies, and help them feel more confident about themselves and their grades. I have had much success with figuring out students learning styles and helping them see how they learn best so I can explain concepts in a variety of ways different than they might receive in class. I believe all students have the capacity to learn and succeed, they just have different ways of understanding that I can help with.
